The Man Behind the Mission
Calvin Mills is the founder, president, and CEO of CMC Technology Solutions, SLT Technology, Inc., and his most recent venture, HelpIT, Inc.—a pioneering software and application development company that has introduced a public offering strategy for the NASDAQ stock exchange. With over 20 years of experience in the tech industry, Calvin has established himself as an award-winning serial tech entrepreneur, embodying the values of faith, hard work, dedication, and perseverance.
Throughout his career, Calvin has devoted countless hours to various organizations, most notably serving on the Nexus Louisiana Board of Directors for eight years as the mayor's designee for the City of Baton Rouge. He held the position of board chairman for three years before stepping in as the interim president and CEO when the organization needed him most, showcasing his commitment to service and leadership.
A philanthropist, author, dynamic speaker, mentor, and advocate for small businesses, Calvin is passionate about advancing the tech sector and nurturing the next generation of entrepreneurs. In 2018, he founded the nonprofit organization Changing Lives Is My Business (CLIMB), aimed at providing access to technology and resources for underserved youth. Through CLIMB, Calvin has also donated thousands of dollars in computers to underserved students, bridging the digital divide one family at a time.

10,000+ Youth to the Bayou Classic
Each year, the Calvin Cares Weekend brings together young people for an unforgettable experience at the Bayou Classic — one of the nation's premier HBCU football rivalries. To date, over 10,000 youth have attended through this initiative. But it's about far more than a football game.
The weekend includes mentorship sessions, college campus tours, career workshops, and exposure to HBCU culture and excellence. For many of these young people, it's their first time on a college campus — and for many, it's the moment that changes the trajectory of their lives forever.

Over the years, Calvin has donated thousands of dollars worth of computers and technology resources to well-deserving youth and teachers throughout the community. These donations have made access to technology a reality for so many families who otherwise would be left behind in an increasingly digital world.
By making sure our teachers have the resources needed to be successful in the classroom, Calvin is investing not just in individual students — but in entire generations. Every computer donated represents opportunity, empowerment, and the belief that technology should be accessible to all.
